Hide-n-seek (2020) shows a girl standing before a rhododendron bush, a flowery scarf covering her face. Having observed that the rhododendron blooms for only a short period she is both hoping to keep the bush in bloom for a little longer as well as blending in with her environment. Hide-n-seek belongs to the series ‘today is my new favourite day.’

Jennifer Drabbe explores our personal behavior in a humorous way. Previously on stage as a theatre director, now as a photographer, she focuses on playful and tender moments she encounters in daily life. Showing us the real world with an unexpected vision. With a strong aesthetic and sense of composition new life is blown into the subject matter highlighting our own curious habits and behaviour.

Jennifer’s book 'today is my new favourite day,’ released in November 2021, is a well designed, surprising and tactile book in which intimate daily moments are conveyed in strong, sometimes theatrical, images. It has been shortlisted for Fotobookaward Kassel, Encontras da Imagem, Belfast Photofestival and Festival Diecixdieci. It has also been acquired for the collections of the Rijksmuseum and the Dutch photography museum.
